Feels good man, if it wasn’t parked behind a minivan I probably would’ve taken my ‘61 coupe in with me.

How much? What for a transmission? Did those all have pancake sixes?

Not going to lie, kind of envious. I’ve always liked the Monzas.

My reasons for selling mine were all good, but man, this makes me want another one. Really nice find. Hope the rockers and windshield area are solid.

When you upgrade to 14" wheels (anything GM will fit) and some proper tires, the handling will be remarkable. 1st-gen Camaro spoiler looks good and is functional.

If you go to start it and it acts like the battery is dead (but it shouldn’t be), check the big fat wire heading from the battery to the starter.

Awesome! Details? How it’s run? Any holes in the top? Etc etc!

They’re not the best, but I can deal with it when the time comes. Dash-check doorhandles-2 Bondo-most certainly, registered new In New Mexico, so hopefully no terminal rot. Floors are good, frunk is good.

About 3500 American bucks. a solid deal. no museum piece but a good project car. 4 speed standard, twin carb flat six.

Sounds like you may have gotten a good deal! :D
![]() 04/17/2018 at 19:32 |

fair price, didn’t steal it.

American
bucks? Do you live outside the US? Is this the one with the improved rear suspension? Where’s the shifter?
![]() 04/17/2018 at 20:25 |

fully independent rear. driving home to Canada, 4 on floor with cool white cueball shifter

Getting any services performed ahead of the trip?
![]() 04/18/2018 at 09:26 |

drive around for a bit once legal. buy a fanbelt etc.

Poor man’s rocker-panel test: with the top down and the doors open, stand in the middle of the car. If the doors still close properly, you’re likely ok.

Oil change? Does that engine have a canister-type filter?
There were people who wedged the Corvair 6 into VW Karmann Ghias. There are examples on YouTube claiming over 300 HP from those 6s.

Thank you for bearing with all of my curiosity. ;o)
I’d like to hear what the engine sounds like in some spirited driving.

Remarkably quiet for a boxer. Going to be nice to it until it gets home. Now road legal! (quite the runaround)
